Ramblings from the Childless (for a week)

Since Wilson is at Honey and Poppy's house for 10 days it's really hard to have anything to say. I vaguely remember that Chris and I used to have a life of our own before February 18, 2002 (Wilson's birthday) but I can't seem to remember what we did. For example - you know what the two of us have been doing since Wilson left? I'll give you the run-down.

1. Tuesday - Wilson left in the morning. We watched tv.
2. Wednesday - Dr. appointment. We went to eat dinner at On the Border. Came home and played 3 hours of Monopoly.
3. Thursday - Chris worked late. Made spaghetti. Settled in to watch season 1 of CSI. We'd already seen all but 1 episode. Folded laundry.

Talk about exciting stuff! I think tonight we will actually go on a date. Tomorrow, Saturday, Chris is working, so I suppose I will fold more laundry and see if there are any CSI shows from season 2 I haven't already seen. Wow. I'm so glad we have a 3 year old around because if we didn't Chris and I would be the most boring people alive. I'm glad Peanut is on the way too - that gives us 4 years after Wilson goes to college before we have an empty nest. We need to get some real hobbies before then. :) My list of things we must do before Wilson comes home - eat dinner at a restaurant that doesn't pass out crayons with a menu and has a tablecloth, NOT a table paper you can color on; go to the art museum and see their new exhibit; see a movie that is not all or partially animated; "Toy Roundup" - get rid of every broken or Happy Meal toy in the house. Not lofty ambitions, but these are things you can't do so well with Wilson in tow.

And since I have nothing to do with the time I'm usually being Mom, I've come up with a gripe that can't be explained: I moved to Texas exactly 10 years and 5 days ago from St. Louis. In July 1995 I experienced the worst case of allergies I've ever had in my life and I went to the Baylor Health Center. The doctor there said I just needed to get used to Texas pollens. I remember this whole thing because I kept telling myself that after a few months or a year I wouldn't have Texas allergies anymore. But it's now July 2005 and I have had a sinus infection every year, every July since moving here. If I'm not used to Texas after 10 years, I'm starting to think I never will be.
